Taking a deeper dive into what leaves are and how they look, The Leaves II (2023) takes a closer look at the outward appearance of a set of leaves, building upon The Leaves I (2023).
This piece is a still life of Leucospermum Cordifolium (nodding pincushion) and Gypsophila Paniculata (baby’s breath) flowers, as well as two types of Eucalyptus; Populus (seeded) and Cinerea (spiral). This grouping of plant life is meant to depict the beauty of white and red blood cells working in harmony to maintain a life. Just like blood cells, plants intake oxygen and supply it to the necessary parts of their being, allowing it to thrive. Finding the beauty in something commonly unseen and unthought of, reflected in the beauty around us; plant life.

‘The Quiet Cabin’ is located on a small lake outside of Jack Henry’s home town. This is where his grandparents live and where he spent most of his childhood, the quiet cabin that is referenced in the images has been there as long as he can remember, standing still and quiet, always with little activity around it. The dreamy, soft photographs capture what it looks and feels like to imagine a place of your childhood, like Jack does with this serene place. The cabin stands peaceful and allows the nature around it to encompass it, with its white walls being the only thing to stand out amongst the lush foliage and life surrounding it.
