Jack Henry is a Houston based artist, photographer, and poet. His delicate strokes, attention to detail, and crave for emotion showcase his practices. His work helps communicate and reflect his desire to help people connect with the little parts of life they may take for granted, and also return back to nature and what is around them.

visual art

Visual art is a glimpse through the mind and memory of an artist. Jack Henry takes what he sees and translates those glimpses and moments onto paper through different mediums, graphite being his main medium of choice. Pulling pieces of reality while keeping blank negative space, allowing subjects to almost float in 'space', further pushing the need to focus on details and one singular moment.

Digital Photography

Photography is a matter of taking how and what an artist sees, their view the world and moments around them, and translating that into a still image. Jack Henry takes natural sunlight and captures the beauty of the world around him, taking in what Mother Nature allows him to experience. Mainly working in sunlight/natural light to heighten the connection with his work and nature itself.

film Photography

Like digital photography, film photography takes what an artist sees and communicates that into a still image that holds the emotions and weight of the person who took it. Film photography tends to be a little more tedious and time consuming, allowing Jack to truly slow down and get absorbed into his subject matter, as well as the medium. He takes natural light images into the dark room to develop, understand, and create these works of art.
